Top Filipino Young Marketers for 2024 Announced

Advocacy-based Mansmith and Fielders Inc. has named the 12 winners for the 19th Mansmith Young Market Masters Awards (YMMA) 2024, continuing its tradition of recognizing excellence in the marketing and business fields. As the most sought-after recognition for young marketers and entrepreneurs 35 years old and below, the Mansmith YMMA has become a prestigious platform that celebrates innovation, creativity, and brand leadership. It is the only marketing award in the country that offers accessibility by having no entry fees and no awards night fees, ensuring that merit, not financial capability, is the basis of recognition. The Mansmith YMMA was established in 2006 with the vision of highlighting the achievements of young professionals who are shaping the future of marketing in the Philippines. These individuals, such as Edgar Sia II of Double Dragon, Jane Basas of Mediaquest, Toby Claudio of Toby’s, Mian Datu of URC, Chad Sotelo of Robinson Land, Carlo Endaya of Century Pacific, Stephen Tiu of J&J, Lester Estrada of P&G, Kris Llanesof Pepsi, Pam Takai of Nestle, Neil Trinidad of GCash, Candice Alabanza-Iyog of Cebu Pacific Air, Ann Esteves of Unilever, Gladys Jane Chan of Visa, Dorothy Dee Ching of Jollibee, Ada Almendras-Lazaro of McDonald’s, Bea Atienza of Colgate-Palmolive, Tet Grajo of Lego, among a small sample of past winners, have continued to innovate and lead, setting high standards for others in the industry.

Judges for this year’s awards, which include Dr. Jikyeong Kang, president and dean of Asian Institute of Management, Bernie Liu, CEO of Golden ABC Inc. (Penshoppe) and Group Chairman of LH Paragon Inc. and Ramon Lopez, former secretary of Department of Trade and Industry and independent director of SM Investments Corporation, bring a wealth of experience and a keen eye for talent to the selection process. Their expertise ensures that the winners are truly the best among their peers, chosen for their ability to lead in a constantly evolving market landscape.

Recognized in the field of marketing management are Lorenzo Canaria of GCash, Grace Therese Benedicto of UL Skin Sciences, Abigail Pel of Unilever, Dominic Reyes of Jollibee Group, Catherine Denise Rollan of Kenvue, and Ian Phillip Villaruel of Procter and Gamble. These individuals have demonstrated exceptional leadership in their respective companies, driving growth and innovation in their marketing strategies.

The winner in brand management is Genesis Jarilla of Nutriasia, whose strategic initiatives have significantly strengthened the company’s brand presence in a competitive market. In trade marketing, Josemaria Montes of Mekeni Food has been recognized for his ability to launch new products using strategic thrift to connect with consumers in meaningful ways, enhancing the brand’s visibility and accessibility. 

In business development, Jhenard Cayaban of Amazon Web Services has been honored for his role in expanding the company’s footprint in the Philippine market, while Cathleen Denise Barrameda of Golden Arches Development (McDonald’s) and Aries John Pineda of SM Mart have been lauded for their impactful advocacy marketing efforts. Their campaigns have not only driven business results but have also contributed to positive social change.

The sole winner for entrepreneurial marketing is Chef Czarina Sevilla of Avocadoria, whose innovative approach to the food business has created a unique brand that resonates with a broad audience. Her success story is a testament to the power of creativity and persistence in entrepreneurship.

The awarding ceremony of the 19th Mansmith YMMA will be on October 4, 2024 (Friday) at the Carlos P Romulo Auditorium, Makati.
